In 2002 Maryland finally got to host some good riding
sessions. About midway along the East Coast of the United States in
the city of Baltimore there is a parking lot that invites all to come and
ride. So, these jams are all about everyone coming out to
ride. This is not a contest, it is just a one day session of riding,
hanging out and having fun.
Lot 'H' at Camden Yards with a huge overpass to protect in case of rain
When Is It:
JAM #5 - Saturday, June 21, 2003. JAM #6 - Saturday, September 13, 2003.
Rain OR shine! If it does rain there is a huge bridge that covers
part of the parking lot. The bridge is about 100 or more feet wide
and gives plenty of room to ride under during wet weather (last
jam). So, rain or shine, you can ride.
What Will Be
Going On: Just riding! There may be some guys with
a few parts to sell and you can check out the TrixBoard or the
Pedal BMX
forums to check about stuff that may be available to buy. Since this
is not a sanctioned event at Camden Yards, there will be no official
vendors there and people should clean up after themselves. Respect.
Who Can Come:
Everyone! This is not a contest, but just a 'get together' for
everyone who is into riding. Not just flatlanders, but the entire
bike riding, specifically freestyle BMX community. If you are a beginner, with less than a year of riding
experience then this is a MUST show up event! The most fun you can
have because it's not a contest, and the lot is HUGE so you can just hide
in a corner when you want to ride, or watch guys that are really, really
good, rip it up.
What To Bring:
Your bike, a good attitude, plenty to drink.
Current weather is calling for a chance of afternoon thunderstorms and
temperatures in the mid to upper 70's. People may bring some cool stuff to sell, so if
you want to buy the latest video or something like that, bring 15 extra
bucks for that. There is a 7-11 a couple of blocks away to get
drinks if you want them.
