The key to having a good ramp is making a very good template.
This is a transition you will make and only use to draw all the other transitions.
Take your time to do this because if you don't do it 100% right you will for sure end up with a
crappy ramp. And you don't want that, do you?
HOW TO MAKE A TEMPLATE:
- You will find all the measurements you need with the ramp plans.
- To start place 2 plates from 122 by 244 (4 by 8 feet) next to each other.
- Take a long 2 by 4, and place a nail on one side of the wood.
- Look on the plan for the length of the transition.
- measure the transition length from the nail, and drill a hole the size of a
pencil in the 2 by 4
- Now place the point of the nail at the right place on the plates, insert a pencil in the hole, and draw a nice curve. This should be a perfect curve.
- Now you can cut the plates very precise and you will have a nice sample of the transition.
- Use that one template to make all the transitions of the ramp, this way they will all be exact the same.
- once again, make sure you do this real good, because otherwise it will be
very hard to layer the ramp.
