This one is a crowd pleaser. It is one of the newer tricks and takes quite a while to learn and dial in. It is not recommended that you try this on your first day of riding, but once it is learned you will definitely be on your way with flatland riding. There really is no single trick that you have to learn before attempting time machines, but don't think that you can just go up and do the trick. Build on it, practice, and keep trying!

  • Begin by riding at a medium/slow pace with both feet on the back pegs.
  • With both feet remaining on the pegs lean to your right and pull the bike up into a wheelie… at the same time, let go of the handlebars with your left hand, and spin the bars 180-degrees clockwise. So your right hand is holding the bars with the hand backwards, and the bike should be leaned hard to the right. As soon as the bars start turning 180-degrees take your right foot off of the peg.
  • The first part described above should occur in about one-tenth of a second, so you have to learn to do a bunch of different things at once!
  • Now you should be coasting in a wide circle to your right with your left hand and right foot out for balance- Start to bring the bike up beside you (on your right side) and grab the front right peg (because your bars are backwards this will be the one closest to you) with your left hand.
  • The key to this trick is this- Bring the bike to your right side, and then stick your right leg in front of the frame and rear tire. Pull it between the frame and your left leg and let it sit there. This is one of the hardest parts of the trick, since this action tightens up your weight and starts you spinning MUCH faster (kind of like a figure skater going into a spin)
  • You should be whipping through some pretty fast circles right now. Balance is maintained by pulling the bike closer or pushing it further away from you. As well you can twist the bike a little so that it does not travel in a perfect circle. This will affect the bike's speed and can help put you over the center of the spin.
  • Keep in mind that the closer you get to the bike the faster your spin is going to be. One of the goals is to get the bike spinning in near perfect circles and then start pulling the frame in really tight so that you do LOTS of circles and they get faster the whole time you are doing them.
  • To ride out, grab the back brakes (your right hand should be on the grip that controls the back brakes). Now, as the front wheel is falling towards the ground, untwist your handlebars, grab the left grip with your left hand, and pull your right foot out from between the frame and your left leg, and step to the pedal. Ride away!

There is no easy way to explain this trick. There is also no easy way to answer any questions that you may have. The real point of this thing is to view the video and try to get an understanding of HOW this trick is done. Then practice it a zillion times.

Keep this in mind- If you are running mags on your bike then you probably won't be able to do the trick… ALSO: If your air pressure is to low you will be struggling. It is important to be running over about 65 psi, so that the tires are hard enough and don't mush underneath of you when you are leaning hard against the back wheel.
