Crooked grinds are probably one of the newest variations of grinds out there
right now- This means that you haven't seen a lot of them and if you want
to impress some others and really get in on the ground floor- THIS is a good
grind to learn.
It probably helps to know 50-50 grinds... but make sure you are
comfortable with bailing from grinds- cuz' this one can eat you alive.
RIDER SUBMITTED DESCRIPTION #1
This grind can only be done on rails and some people call this a crossover
grind.
All you do is bunnyhop, push your front tire over the rail and land on
the rail.
Your front peg will be grinding and your back peg on the opposite side
should be grinding.
It's hard.
When your done grinding pull up very hard
bunnyhop off either side and your done.

A little more detail from ~P~ who CAN'T do this trick...
Approach a handrail at your normal grinding speed for 50-50 grinds. Do
NOT pick a rail that is to high to try to learn this on or one that has a 20
foot drop off of one side.
Try to approach the rail almost straight on and bunnyhop up onto the rail.
The trick to this is that your pegs should be on either side of the rail-
that is your left front peg and your right REAR peg should be on the rail at the
same time (crooked). You can do this the other way as well- put your right
front peg and your left rear peg on the rail.
Typically to land crooked the FRONT tire is the one that will go over the
rail when you bunnyhop- But you can also throw the back end of the bike
really high in the bunnyhop and throw your back wheel over the rail for this
grind.
Coming off seems to be about as difficult- Hopefully for learning the
trick you have a clear runway at the end of the rail so you can just come off of
it. If not you REALLY need to pull up hard to get your front wheel back
over the rail and your bike off the rail for a controlled landing.
Good luck!
RIDER SUBMITTED DESCRIPTION #2
PREREQUISITES: Bunny Hop and Feeble Grinds
VARIATIONS: One-handed I guess, I don't know
about anything else, anything else would be insane.
DESCRIPTION: You need to
find a good size rail. something with a height that you are used too. When you
get better you can do it on higher things, but start small. and make sure your
good at bailing. On this trick you might need too!
Approach the rail at a speed
that your comfortable with.
Head towards the rail almost straight.
Bunny hop up
to the rail and act as if you are doing a feeble.
I mean this like, feeble the
rail, but have your front wheel fall to the other side so your peg will hit it.
Your back peg and your front peg should be on opposite sides of the rail.
Try and
turn your front wheel towards the inside of the rail. Not to much though or the
bike wont be even on the rail.
Now, if you do this while heading towards the
rail at a big angle, your back peg might slip off and you'll be grinding your
frame.
While coming towards the end of the rail, just lift up and ride off of
it. or if you prefer to make it look cool, bunny-hop off.
In doing this trick I have found that it is real hard to keep both pegs on with out my back peg
slipping. I would say this is one of the harder grinding tricks out there. But I
think that if you can feeble, you can do this one.

RIDER SUBMITTED DESCRIPTION #3
PREREQUISITES: Feeble Grind, Fifty Grind, and manuals.
VARIATIONS: x-up, fakie, tricks
going in and out
DESCRIPTION: It is really good to be able to be able to
Feeble grind on a similar height rail.
You are going to set it up just like a Feeble
so you need to aproach the rail, which is all that it can be done on, at a
medium to fast speed.
Pull up and set up a bunnyhop onto the rail. think of this
rail as being the edge of a ledge that you are trying to feeble.
If you are approaching from the left then land your back right peg on the rail and as you
ease your front wheel down for the "feeble" part of the grind, just
catch the front left peg on the other side of the rail.
Once both pegs are on
the rail, squeeze the bike onto the rail by moving your handle bars to the left.
this will keep you from falling off.
To get out of the trick, you want to
move the handlebars to the right as you are pulling back on the handlebars.
Pull
your front end back over the rail so that the whole bike is on the same side of
the rail. pull off like any other grind now and ride away - for learning, just
simply slide off the end of the bar.

RIDER SUBMITTED DESCRIPTION #4
PREREQUISITES: bunnyhops, 50-50's, hop over grinds, feebles
VARIATIONS: 180 in, 180 out
DESCRIPTION: Find a rail, the lower the better, and approach it at the same
speed and angle you would to 50-50 it.
When I learned it, I was trying to feeble
the rail. So you want to use the same technique to get into it. That is, pull up
and pull your front wheel into the rail, except this time, let your wheel drop
over the other side and catch the peg (don't worry about your back peg, it will
take care of itself).
Once you get on the rail, turn your bars towards the rail
a little(I find it helps to keep your front peg from sliding off), and keep your
body and bike centered directly over the rail.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!! if
you're not directly over the rail, one of your pegs will slide off making for an
unpleasant dismount.
Now comes the hard part...getting off. There are two basic
ways to bet out of this trick. First, you can simply slide off the end of the
rail. Beware! you have to pull up so you don't catch your bottom bracket or
sprocket on the rail and flip. Second, you can hop over and out.
This one is
tough. You have to pull up real hard and really force the front end to come back
to the correct side again before you hop off with the back peg. The hardest
thing is pulling up enough to clear the front wheel.
The most important things
to remember are: stay directly over the rail, turn your bars towards the rail,
and pull up hard to get off!
